I brought up the escobar thing in here first because I thought it would be an interesting issue to discuss

For the Escobar thing, I think it would be okay to do, but there should be a stipulation of some sort. Like in the NBA, if a team releases a player or trades a player who then gets dropped by the other team, that player must wait 30 days to re-sign with the original team. I don't know if the MLB actually has this kind of rule and if so what the rule stats. However, we could just do this. So basically the Cards would have to wait 30 days (or whatever time length is decided on) to bid for Escobar.
However, the Cards would still be charged with half of Escobar's original contract for the remaining years on that original contract since he dropped him.
Just an idea.

I like the Tigers thought about being able to resign a player after dropping. Something along those lines could definitely work.
