2007 Gold Glove winners
AMERICAN LEAGUE C Ivan Rodriguez, DET 1B Kevin Youkilis, BOS 2B Placido Polanco, DET 3B Adrian Beltre, SEA SS Orlando Cabrera, LAA OF Ichiro Suzuki, SEA OF Torii Hunter, MIN OF Grady Sizemore, CLE P Johan Santana, MIN
NATIONAL LEAGUE
C Russell Martin, LAD 1B Derrek Lee, CHC 2B Orlando Hudson, ARI 3B David Wright, NYM SS Jimmy Rollins, PHI OF Carlos Beltran, NYM OF Andruw Jones, ATL OF Jeff Francoeur, ATL OF Aaron Rowand, PHI P Greg Maddux, SD
I think this year was one of the best in some time in awarding Gold Gloves to deserving player and not based on reputation or offense *insert inimical Derek Jeter reference here*.
The only problem I have is with Ivan. I would contest that Johjima or Mauer should've received the award over Ivan.
Oh well, I still won't put too much stock in the Gold Gloves. It will take more than one decent year to reverse the selection of Bobby Abreu.

Come on this may be the worst selection of gold glove winners since Palmeiro won it playing most at DH
David Wright is god aweful at first , the new york pro met talk shows even ripped this selection. Wright has a terrible arm and made 23 errors !! Beltran is another bad one , he plays a deep outfield and lets alot of balls drop . The rest I agree with although i kinda assume omar vizquel should be there

I don't like how they award 2 people for one gold glove...."Jeff Francoeur/Aaron Rowand" , I just don't like ties very well..

I actually think Rowand was better defensively last year than this year. But this year he didn't make errors and had a ton of outfield assists. I'm happy J-Roll got the recognition finally. I think the last 1-2 years Vizquel was winning on reputation.
I agree though, I do like the selections overall.

Ivan Rodriguez did not deserve a Gold Glove. He only won because of reputation. Torri Hunter only won because of reputation (he didn't make many amazing catches this year).
I think Melky Cabrera is the top outfielder that deserved a Gold Glove this year. He had many amazing/outstanding catches and he had about 15+ outfield assists.
