The Tampa Bay Devil Rays are now going to be known as the Tampa Bay Rays.
This is terrible. The Devil Rays have been my second favorite team ever since Lou Piniella took over them, and I absolutely hate this change. First, their uniforms look AAA-ish, maybe even AA. Their color scheme is now Blue on Light Blue with Yellow, as if there arent enough teams that are blue (also eliminating my favorite jersey in baseball, the All Green with White Piping jersey.
I also do not understand any motivation behind it. All it could do from my viewpoint is sever ties between the fans and the team. The idea that someone could be offended by "devil" in the Devil Rays name is ludicrous, and even if that were to be acknowledged as a legitimate reasoning, why not change to the Tampa Bay Manta Rays instead?
All in all, I hate this with all my sould, and I hope they eventually realize how feebleminded their decision was and reverse it.

yeah, well they'll be good in years to come, they should actually be really good ...and i agree, i dont like uniforms, they could have changed the uniforms around and still kept the colors, i didnt think about them looking like they were minor league jerseys but now that you mention it. i believe they do too

Their biggest problem is their division.
