A-Rod obviously deserved the win here.
My only question is, how did he not win unanimously? Sure, Magglio had a great season, but I really can't see much of an argument, and the Yankees are my least favorite team. I guess it was the two Detroit writers who had him first, maybe they just wanted to pay their respects to Magglio somehow.
You can even make the argument that Magglio had more help offensively from his teammates on Detroit than A-Rod did with the Yankees. Granderson had a tremendous year, Guillen was very good, and Sheffield had a great first half before completely falling apart. The Yankees ended up getting decent seasons out of guys like Cano, Matsui, and Jeter but many of them started slow and the only regular to really surpass expectations was Posada. And the Yankees made the playoffs and the Tigers didn't...

The two writers who voted Magglio first place were the Detroit writer and the Oakland Writer. The Detroit writer just showed complete bias towards Magglio. And the Oakland writer was just plain STUPID. A-Rod should have won unanimously. He led the Yankees to the playoffs after they were behind the Red Sox by 14.5 games in July. Magglio did great for the first half of the season. The 2nd half he did nothing because he did not lead the Detroit Tigers to the playoffs.
This is just like how Derek Jeter got robbed of the MVP for 2006. He should have won the MVP that year. And the 1 thing that really pissed me off was the Chicago writer voted the White Sox catcher Perzienski as 10th place. Perzienski didn't even deserve to be on the ballot. He has done nothing since 2005. This just shows that there are writers out there that are bias and do not vote the way they should vote.

Arod should've won unanimously for obvious reasons. And AJ got a vote? Wow...pathetic.

I just found out that the Oakland writer was from Oakland, Michigan...so he was the other Tigers guy with a vote. What a bunch of homers.
